The Art with Heart Auction was first introduced to me by my good friend, Rachel. I noticed a beautiful piece of artwork in her home and she told me she won it in the silent auction at this wonderful event. I loved the piece and wanted to know more about the event.
Upon my research, I found out that the artwork is donated by many talented artists across the Southeast and the fundraiser benefits Safe Alliance (formally United Family Services) which provides hope and healing to victims of domestic violence, sexual assault and child abuse. This year's donations include pieces from Jane and Hugh McColl's collection, Bank of America's private collection and Elder Gallery.
In its 13th year, Art with Heart takes place on Saturday, February 2nd from 7-10pm. It will be hosted by Colleen Odegaard and Ramona Holloway of WCNC's Charlotte Today show and you can expect an evening of art and entertainment at Founders Hall in Uptown Charlotte. This year's fundraiser includes an extra special celebration...a new Safe Alliance shelter which allows the organization to help many more people in crisis. To purchase fundraiser auction tickets, which are $100 go here.
With over 100 pieces in the auction (silent and live) there is sure to be something that fits everyones' artistic style. The 2013 artwork is continuously uploaded to the Art with Heart Facebook page but here are just a few pieces that you can have a chance to bid on at the event (below).
