Earth Day Beauty Gifts
Image courtesy of First to Know |
Looking for some green-friendly beauty gifts that still leaves money in the bank? Well I have rounded up a few all natural products, from a mask to soap and lip gloss that helps the environment, all while making you beautiful, just in time for Earth Day.
Created to rejuvenate skin, this mask tightens pores and leaves your face feeling fantastic. The deep cleanser includes wildcrafted seaweed and gives you a new radiant look.
This balm that mixes together various essential oils including sunflower and olive oil should be used to restore your skin from winter’s blues. The hypoallergenic balm promotes healthy and balanced skin.
English Lavender Soap/$5.50
The relaxing fragrance of this lavender infused with chamomile soap makes lounging in the bath more enjoyable, all while moisturizing and soothing your skin. The 4 oz bar is marbled with violet ultramarine and the scent helps to relieve stress naturally.
Derived from rose bushes, the oil is recommended for all skin types and will leave your skin looking younger, brighter and refreshed. It is especially good for those worried about environmental damage and premature aging. Who isn't, right?
Shine bright like a diamond...or maybe lip gloss instead? Burt's Bees has come up with a lip gloss that is all natural and leaves lips soft and shiny. The gloss comes in 12 shades with cute names like Spring Spender and Summer Twilight.

Sale Alert: Towne & Reese Sample Sale
Towne and Reese Sample Salon allows you to add some bling to your jewelry box |
For those in the 704, you can stop by the Towne & Reese office, cash in hand to purchase rings, bracelets, earrings and more at 214 W. Tremont Avenue, Suite 303. They ask that you park across the street from their building in the old warehouse lot on the left side of the fence only (they are very specific because they do not want anyone to get towed!).
The items that are apart of the sample sale includes overstock items, sample rep samples, accessories left over from season's past and a some with irregularities. Oh--and guess what? Everything is between $5-$15! This sale is a great opportunity to stock up your gift closet and with these prices I encourage you to pick out a lil' something for you too!
Bzzz: Before going to the sample sale, look in your own jewelry box and see what you are missing (yellow necklace, gold studs, etc) and make a list for your shopping day at Towne & Reese. Also, think about your friends and their jewelry "style" and make note...knowing these things will help you to not duplicate your jewelry pieces and allows you to pick up something perfect for a friend.
Be sure to tell them HoneeBee Gifts sent you...and I will see you there!
Bzzz: For my non locals, I have a surprise!! Just go to the Towne & Reese website for 30% off. In addition, if you spend over $100, the shipping is free.

Bzzzz: HoneeBee Gifts buzzes around SouthPark Magazine
Be sure to pick up the April issue of SouthPark Magazine and see my contributions in the BLVD section of this luxe magazine. This month I interviewed internationally known fashion designer, Cynthia Rowley...fresh off of New York Fashion Week no less...and her passion for her work came through in every word she spoke. Have you ever met someone who seemed so in tune to their calling? It may sound silly but that's the feeling I got from Cynthia! So obviously interviewing Ms. Rowley was a huge highlight for me but I also got to create a fun piece called Neighborhood Style Watch where personal fashion style was shown through Charlotte neighborhoods. Let me know (leave a comment below) if you could see yourself in the "neighborhood" attire once you read the article. Last but not least, I was able to share a new beauty gem (and timesaver) to SouthPark--Blo OuT salon which opened this month. It all begins on page 21 and copies can be picked up here.
Bzzz: Cynthia by Cynthia Rowley is a new clothing line being sold exclusively by Belk stores. I've checked out these outfits and they are classic Cynthia but with a smaller price tag. Her clothes offer staples (cute Tuxedo pants) and whimsical (silk shirts dotted with colorful polka dots) items too. Great for fashionistas, budget babes who still want to look good and those that want to "pop" this spring/summer.
The services of Blo Out would be a fun afternoon of pampering your hair with your best girlfriend (for $35 for a style you can treat!) or a special Mother/Daughter outing.
I painstakingly (smile) picked clothes and accessories for the Neighborhood Style Watch from Fresh Boutique, Boris & Natasha, Scout & Molly's and Ivy & Leo that would make for a pulled together look for every Charlotte zip code so I suggest you stop in the respective stores and ask for the entire outfit! Too much? Try an accessory or one of the pieces for a "just right for you" gift!

Gift Tip #121: Glass Vessels
Native Charlottean, Sherry Azali Beatti has been an artist her entire life. One of her earliest memories was playing in the mud and trying to make pottery and she remembers receiving art kits every Christmas and each birthday. So it is no wonder that she continues making art and one of her latest creations are festive glass vessels. Beatti hand paints each glass bowl with vibrant colors and designs using the reverse painting technique.
